Press Release

Relaunch: new website of the Austrian Society for Geomechanics (OeGG) presents itself in a modern, clearly arranged appereance.

In the course of the first planning activities for the "European Symposium on Rock Mechanics" (EUROCK), to be held in October 2015 in Salzburg, the Austrian Society for Geomechanics (OeGG) set her goal to modernize and improve its website due to this event with national and international audience. Since May 2014, the Austrian national society of the "International Society for Rock Mechanics" (ISRM) has been presented on a completely redesigned website. The new layout convinces with clarity, user-friendliness, updated functions, improved display of content and should also cope with modern mobile demands. The former structure of the homepage has been intentionally maintained in order to offer long-term users the familiar and widely known environment. The website is still available in German and English but now offers a range of new features such as a members' platform - access to membership data as well as special documents (e.g. report of the general meeting) - and a platform for applications for the Leopold Müller Award and the OeGG Support Award. Further noticeable corporate design changes are the newly designed society logo and the new colours. These should serve as concise recognition features for the Society in the public domain.

All new features of the OeGG website at a glance:

  • Redesign of the society logo
  • New society colours
  • New, modern and attractive design
  • New members' platform (still under development)
  • New platform for support applications (Leopold Müller Award, OeGG Support Award, still under development)
  • Improved display of available and already booked exhibition booths at the annual Geomechanics Colloquium in the Salzburg Congress
  • Optimised and clear form to register for the Geomechanics Colloquium

The design and technical implementation have been provided by WDW WerbeDesign Wanger e.U.

On behalf of the Austrian Society for Geomechanics I would be very happy if you, dear readers, members, colleagues and friends, carry on visiting our website in order to inform about current events, publications, and other news by and about the OeGG. The "Youngsters" among us will find the corresponding icons to point at the OeGG appereances on Facebook and Twitter at our new website.
